Between battles:
Updated (Oct 2nd, 2002): Oops, forgot to even MENTION the trials. Between
the previous battle and this battle I usually undergo the first trial
(hidden battle) of the game. It gives diddly squat XP (except for healers),
everyone his Ash's level, and is usually very hard. Of course, you get
something for doing all of them....
Well, I'm going to assume that everyone has finished the first
trial, so... after the trial you get confirmation that the dynamic
trio do indeed join your party (although the only one I like out of the
three is Sara... but that is just because she looks cute in her monk portrait.
:P). Anyways, you arrive in a swamp and notice enemies. Kira goes off
to attack the rear enemies, Clint follows, and you get split in two. NOT
a good way to start a map...
Battle Map 9: Divided, but not conquered.
Well well.. this has GOT to be the most complicated battle
I've had where I'm trying to NOT have one of my characters die AND get
the banana.

3x DarkGolem (Guard class, level 9, 80/80 HP)
3x BloodGhost (Flier class, level 9, 70/70 HP)
6x MadSoldier (Soldier class, level 9, 75/75 HP)
General strategy? Simple. Reunite your force, go for the banana, then
waste the rest. Oh, and by the way, avoid the swamp areas, it is poisonous.
It will cause poison on ANY unit (including fliers, including enemies)
stopped in it.
Not too bad of a battle, but not exactly easy if you are a perfectionist.
What I did (Screenshots 1-4 and the map show the start):
Hero Turn 1:
Eleni: Move up in front of the Dark Golem towards the North end of the
map and cast this nice pretty area of effect spell on them (centered around
the Golem) called Piercing Ray. [DGolem2 -68 HP, Psycho3 and Psycho4 -31
HP, Eleni -4 MP, +66 XP, Eleni Level Up]
Sara: Walks North to that same DarkGolem and slashes in to that rock hard
body of his. [DGolem2 now dead, Sara +20 XP]
Ash: Walks north to one of the injured Psychos and whips out his acrobatic
gravity defying sword. [Psycho4 now dead, Ash +22 XP]
Clint: Retreats towards the South behind a mountain.
Kira: The lovely hawknight (I just LOVE her portrait!) flies and stabs
that mean old DarkGolem in the back. [DGolem1 -32 HP, Kira -27 HP, +10
XP]
Huxley: Casts MShield on Diego (I swear, this is the only battle where
I use it on PURPOSE on someone else...). [Huxley -2 MP, +4 XP, Diego Df
Up!]
Diego: To counter Kira, Diego moves in his suicide position.
Grog: Supports Diego in his life choice.
Dolan: Guards Amon and Huxley
Amon: Shoots a ghostie. [BGhost1 -54 HP, Amon +40 XP]

Enemy Turn 1:
Psycho1: Lets Mosey! Those hero guys have beeeeer!
Psycho2: All right, BEEER!
Psycho3: Attacks Sara from above and to the side. [Sara -27 HP, +10 XP,
Psycho3 -23 HP]
Psycho5: Hmm... Grog Drinkwater... sounds like BEER! [Grog -22 HP, +13
XP, Psycho5 -31 HP]
Psycho6: Hmm... Diego looks like a partier. [Diego blocks attack, +20
XP, Diego Level Up, Psycho6 -25 HP]
Shooter1: Did I hear someone say BEER?!
Shooter2: Yeah, I heard the same, lets go!
Shooter3: Damn those front line warriors always getting the Grog. [Grog
-19 HP]
BGhost1: You know, that Dolan has a sexy body, I think it looks FAR superior
to my current one, don't you think? [Dolan -31 HP, BGhost1 blocks counterattack]
BGhost2: I so agree my estute brother! Oops, I should pay attention to
what I was doing... [Dolan blocks attack, +20 XP, BGhost2 -27 HP]
BGhost3: Well, Grog has two, so Diego should get the same treatment! [Diego
-23 HP, +12 XP, BGhost3 -37 HP]
DGolem1: Attacks Clint from above and behind. [Clint -30 HP, +20 XP. DGolem1
-34 HP]
DGolem3: I know those guys from the other side of that mountain said BEER!
What is everyone worrying about with that Diego punk anyways?

Hero Turn 2: ***PREROUND*** Ash, taking the role of
his alterego Captain Obvious©, announces that swamps are
poisonous. DUH!
Eleni: Moving South, she pierces two bloodghosts with a single wave of
her hand! Watch as next she will make the ground literally move! :P [BGhost1
now dead, BGhost2 -30 HP, Eleni -4 MP, +30 XP]
Dolan: Being the notnearlythatsneakybecauseofchainmail guy he is, he goes
behind BGhost2 and slices him in half [BGhost2 now dead, Dolan +30 XP,
Dolan Level Up]
Amon: Taking one for the team, he purposely enters the poisonous swamp
and kills the remaining ghost at a nice distance. [BGhost3 now dead, Amon
+55 XP, Poisoned.]
Diego: Hey, wow, that guy fighting Grog is a meanie, lets get 'em! [Psycho5
now dead, Diego +28 XP]
Grog: Hey, wow, that guy fighting Diego is a meanie, lets get 'em! [Psycho6
now dead, Grog +22 XP]
Huxley: Ruining the suicidal boys' plans, Huxley heals them all up nice
and good. [Grog +41 HP, Diego +23 HP, Huxley -4 MP, +13 XP]
Kira: Moving around without a care in the world, Kira slams in to a Psycho
[Psycho3 now dead, Kira +20 XP]
Clint: Clint SMASH! [DGolem1 now dead, Clint +25 XP].
Ash: Being the superhero he is, he walks north of Clint to take bullets
(well, arrows) for the injured Clint. The reason? Ash can heal himself.
:P
Sara: Heals up good old Clintyboy. I'm sure he likes the special attention
from 'nurse monk' Sara. :P [Sara -3 MP, +7 XP, Clint +30 HP]

Enemy Turn 2: (Wow did their army get short in 2 rounds...)
Psycho1: Holy ****! Our allies over there are being slaughtered. Wow,
what is this muck stuff I just stepped in? [Psycho1 Poisoned]
Psycho2: All right, BEEER! Lets go to Ash! 22/41/15/Ash
Shooter1: Did I hear someone say BEER?! That Ash dude must have it. Wait,
which one is Ash again? [Clint -18 HP]
Shooter2: Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... That chick must be Ash. Wow,
is she beautiful... what is this muck I just stepped in? [Sara -21 HP,
Shooter2 Poisoned]
Shooter3: Damn it, I want Grog!. [Grog -19 HP]
DGolem3: Um... what happened to my friends...? Oh well, need more Grog!
[Grog -28 HP, +10 XP, DGolem3 -31 HP]
Hero Turn 3: ***PREROUND*** Amon takes 17 points of poison
damage.
Diego: Finally realizing his purpose, Diego goes for... THE BANANA! [Diego
Poisoned]
Amon: Shruging off the deadly poison flowing through his veins, he shoots
some stoner. [DGolem3 -24 HP, Amon +10 XP, Still Poisoned, Amon
Level Up]
Eleni: Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond the blood that flows...
okay, so it is just a dark star, but she is working on that spell! :P
[DGolem3 now dead, Eleni -3 MP, +22 XP]
Dolan: Chillin.
Grog: You know, that shooterimp has been SUCH a pain in my rear... [Shooter3
now dead, Grog +33 XP, Grog Level Up]
Huxley: Out of boredom, Huxley cures Amon. [Amon Normal, Huxley -2 MP,
+9 XP]
Kira: Moving around without a care in the world, Kira slams in to a Psycho
[Psycho2 now dead, Kira +23 XP, Kira Level Up]
Clint: Clint SMASH! [Psycho1 -55 HP, Clint -20 HP, +31 XP, Clint
Level Up].
Ash: Out of boredom, he sword/uppercuts an imp [Shooter2 now dead, Ash
+23 XP]
Sara: Not wanting to chip her cool nails or claws, she retreats to heal
herself. :P [Sara -3 MP, +43 HP, +20 XP]

Enemy Turn 3: ***PREROUND*** Psycho1 dies from poison.
Shooter1: Uh, guys, where did you go? Oh crap I am SO screwed. Might as
well shoot Clint [Clint -21 HP].
Hero Turn 4: ***PREROUND*** Diego takes 22 points of poison damage.
Sara: Since there is NOTHING left to do, Mystic Shielding Kira. [Sara
-3 MP, 27 XP, Sara Level Up, Kira Df Up!]
Ash: Healing thyself [-2 MP, +22 HP, +10 XP]
Huxley: Mystic Shielding himself. [Huxley -3 MP, 16 XP, Df Up!]
Clint: Finishing the job. [Shooter1 now dead, Clint +23 XP]
